Three Wheeled Buggies
If you're looking for a buggy run around in or a stroller that can be used for neighbourhood walks, three wheeled buggies offer great mobility. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver, even in tight spaces.
If you are looking for a smooth ride with your baby, select models with 360deg front wheels that swivel. However, they are more prone to punctures, so be prepared with an repair kit.
Sturdy frame
The latest figures have been released that show that the three-wheeled buggie - a symbol of the noughties of more money than wisdom - is in steep decline. They've been replaced with four-wheelers that can handle a wider variety of terrain, yet still look elegant and easy to push.
The basic principle is that the larger the wheels are, the easier it'll be for your buggy to cope with bumpy ground and rough pavements. The larger wheels both rear and front, make it easier to maneuver and more stable while walking downhill or over difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tested the buggy with a newborn and 3 year old and found it was able to withstand cobbles, grass, rough pavements, dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said it felt solid to push and very solid on difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable, so require occasional pumping) come with suspension built-in that was very comfortable for my kids.
Another thing to take into consideration is the seat size and shape. You'll want it to be big enough for your child's comfort and you will also need it to recline so that they can lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies will have the option of reclining completely, while others will only allow an adult facing one.
A great option for those who want to tackle off-road and muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. This buggy can be used as a one-person unit from the beginning and can be modified to accommodate two children as your family expands. It is suitable for infants and toddlers from birth until age 4, and comes with a bumper and raincover, a new 5-point harness, and a big cushioned seat. Storage options are also great, with a large basket with zip pockets on the hood and a handy pouch on the rear of the seat unit.
Larger wheels
Larger wheels mean that your buggy will have more stability on rough terrain - perfect for buggies that are off-road. They also make it easier to manoeuvre the pushchair in tight spaces. Some three-wheeled buggies feature wheels that swivel on the front to assist you in navigating tight corners. Others are designed for running and have fixed wheels that lock to provide increased speed and stability. This is also useful if you crash into a tree or a kerb. The front wheel will lift slightly to keep it from hitting it.
Many 3 wheeled pushchairs have air-filled tyres which allow them to tackle a broad range of terrains. They are also more flexible than 4 wheelers. They're also lighter. They are more prone to punctures, so you will require an repair kit and spare inner tube on hand.
Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and Venicci Carbo Lux are among our top 3-wheelers. These buggies, as per MFM's Kath, have larger wheels, which, she says "perform well on gravel roads, grass and market town cobbles", and can easily move up and down kerbs. They also have a suspension system that according to her "smoothes out bumps extremely effectively".

Buggies with bigger wheels can be quite large, and they may be a challenge to fit into narrow spaces. check here is a problem if you're using it as a jogger or to be able to get through doorways that are narrow when you're out and out and about. Luckily, most models have small folding options that allow you to remove the front wheels to make compact storage.
Easy to manoeuvre
One of the primary benefits to a three wheel buggy is that it is much easier to maneuver, especially with a child on the way. They are designed to ensure that the front wheels be turned on a dime and are easy to maneuver, making them perfect for challenging terrain such as cobblestones, parks, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried an all-wheeler with her toddler. she wrote: "The Terrain is a pleasure to drive on uneven terrain. The swivel wheel in the front was particularly useful." I was also impressed with how well it dealt with bumps, particularly when using the hand-operated brake. I found it to be extremely steady when I was driving downhill or over uneven ground."
The only downside to this incredible maneuverability is that the larger wheels of a 3-wheel buggy may make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something you should keep in mind when you live in a city. If this is an issue then a 4-wheeler might be a better option for you.
